The Warriors’ Win Streak Ended on Their Road as They Lose Against Less LeBron James Lakers

The Golden State Warriors winning streak ended in Los Angeles on Sunday, as they lost to the Lakers 113-105. The Dubs’ recent road woes continue despite taking on less LeBron James Lakers and recently getting the injured Andre Iguodala and Steph Curry back. The injury saw Steph Curry miss 11 games in a row.

The Warriors were once again in a significant first-quarter shortfall. Draymond Green left the game with a hand injury, and Curry appeared sloppy following his first 5 minutes of play in over a month. The Warriors tumbled behind by 30-12 as they struggled to gain traction on both ends of the floor.

The bench duo of Jordan Poole & Jonathan Kuminga gave their team a much-needed boost, allowing them to start closing the gap on the Lakers. The Warriors took a 17-3 run after Green, who had a wrap on his left hand, returned to the court to start the 2nd quarter. The warriors cut into the Los Angeles Lakers’ lead and were only down 55-54 at halftime.

The Lakers took a 78-72 lead into the final quarter after a strong third. Curry found his groove early in the fourth quarter, assisting or scoring on 16 consecutive Warriors points ahead of being replaced with the Golden State Warriors trailing 89-88. The Lakers were able to go on an instant 7-3 run even without Curry on the court.

With four minutes remaining in regulation, the Lakers held a 98-91 lead over the Warriors, leaving little margin for error for Golden State. Two errors by Anthony Lamb prompted a three-pointer by Troy Randall Brown Jr. and the Dub’s turnover. However, consecutive three-pointers by Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson brought the Warriors within one possession.

Lamb came in to replace Andre Iguodala for the first time since January. Coach Steve Kerr wanted a more athletic big man than starting Kevon Looney to close down Anthony Davis. Davis made a quick move toward Iguodala, drawing a foul out of him.

The Lakers were leading 107-101 when Curry missed a perfect three-point attempt with 48.9 seconds left in regulation. Davis made a floater over Green to place the game out of reach for the Warriors. The Warriors’ lack of a true center allowed Davis to take advantage of the situation, capitalizing by scoring 39 points, grabbing eight rebounds, dishing out six assists, and blocking two shots on Sunday afternoon.

Curry led the Golden State Warriors with 25 points & 6 assists in 32 minutes of action. Green contributed nine rebounds, 15 points, and three assists in addition to Thompson’s 22 points.

The Warriors are currently 34-31 on the campaign. However, they hold a half-game lead over the Timberwolves for the 5th seed in the NBA Western Conference. Also, two games now separate them from the Suns for the 4th seed in the NBA Western Conference.

Dubs Star Stephen Curry Gives a Stern Warning to the NBA After Suffering a Crushing Defeat Against a Lakers Team Without Lebron James

Following a month-long absence due to injury, Stephen Curry returned to the court on Sunday. However, the Warriors lost against the Los Angeles Lakers without LeBron James. That’s a stellar result for the Lakers despite the best shooter ever returning to the Dub’s lineup. LA clinched a 113-105 victory over the Golden State Warriors behind Anthony Davis’s outstanding performance.

Curry admitted after the match that the Dubs have been having trouble lately. The team’s injury woes have been a significant factor in that. However, Steph is still optimistic about the defending champions’ chances.

For some reason, the Warriors transform into a different team in the playoffs. They are currently fifth in the Western Conference. Nothing short of a complete and utter disaster can stop them from making the playoffs this campaign. Therefore, the Warriors must use the remainder of the season opener to regain form. With Stephen Curry back on the team, the two-time MVP winner should quickly regain his MVP form.
